Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a low-density polyurethane foam having good appearance and feel and excellent in mechanical strength such as tensile strength and tear strength.
SOLUTION: This polyurethane foam is obtained by reaction between a polyisocyanate component and a polyol component followed by expansion; wherein the polyol component contains a polyester polyol which is prepared by polycondensation reaction between an acid component comprising an aromatic polybasic acid (except o-phthalic acid, phthalic anhydride, isophthalic acid and terephthalic acid) and an aliphatic polybasic acid and a polyhydric alcohol, and the polyester polyol is liquid at 40°C and has a viscosity of ≤10,000 cP at 60°C. Alternatively, this polyurethane foam is obtained by reaction between a polyol component and an isocyanate prepolymer which is prepared from a polyisocyanate component and a polyol component containing the above- mentioned polyester polyol, followed by expansion.
