Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To industrially advantageously obtain the subject compound without preparing hydrogen sulfide as a by-product, by reacting a nitrile group-containing polymer with a polyamine in the presence of a specific catalyst.
SOLUTION: (A) A nitrile group-containing compound which is a (co)polymer of (meth)acrylonitrile and optionally another monomer (styrene) is reacted with (B) a polyamine preferably of the formula H2NCHR1CHR2NHR3 [R1 to R3 are each H, a (functional group-containing) aliphatic, aroliphatic or aromatic group] (e.g. ethylenediamine) in the presence of (C) a catalyst comprising (i) ammonium chloride and/or (ii) an amine (e.g. ethylenediamine) hydrochloride in a liquid phase at 60-200°C, preferably at 70-180°C.
