Abstract:
To obtain a porous cellulose material having moderate elasticity and cushioning performance, uniform pore structure and excellent porosity and heat-insulation and useful as a liquid-absorbing material, a sustained release carrier for drug, or the like, adding a surfactant to a cellulose solution and beating, coagulating and regenerating the solution.
A cellulose solution such as viscose for the production of cellophane (the concentration is preferably 4-10 wt.%) is incorporated with preferably ≥0.1 wt.% surfactant such as a cationic surfactant, beaten by stirring, coagulated and regenerated to obtain the objective porous cellulose material having a porosity of ≥90% and an air-permeation time of ≥1 sec reduced to 1 mm thick.
