Title:
PRODUCTION OF SILVER/PALLADIUM POWDER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3141669
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a silver/palladium powder for a conductive paste eliminating an occurrence of a delamination (ply separation) even if the paste is heated at the time of baking the paste by adding formalin to a soln. of glycols in which silver nitrate and palladium nitrate are dissolved and subjecting this mixed soln. to a reducing treatment by heating to produce the silver/palladium powder.
CONSTITUTION: The silver nitride and the palladium nitrate corresponding to an required silver/palladium wt. ratio is prepared, and these are added and dissolved to a soln. such as ethylene glycol and propylene glycol. Then formalin is added to this soln. and agitated sufficiently to make a mixed soln.. Next, this mixed soln. is subjected to reducing treatment by heating, that is, when the soln. in heated and reduced at 120-170°C for about 1 hour the silver/ palladium powder boils azeotropicaly, and the powder is recovered, washed and dried. Since this silver/palladium powder does not cause an oxidative expanding phenomenon even if it is heated at the baking temp. of the paste, interlayer separation is prevented.
