To provide a process for obtaining a paint concentrate containing a metal phthalocyanine pigment without long-term grinding and without using any special dispersing and fluidizing agent.
There is provided a process for producing a paint concentrate, which process comprises subjecting a crude metal phthalocyanine to grinding or acid pasting in order to reduce its particle diameter and to thereby form a modified crude metal phthalocyanine, kneading the crude phthalocyanine and a paint vehicle containing one or more paint solvents to obtain a paint mixture in which the metal phthalocyanine is present in an amount of 20-80 wt.%, based on the kneaded mixture and which contains the metal phthalocyanine in the form of a pigment and dispersed in the paint vehicle.
