Title:
PRODUCTION OF PROPYLENE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010138405
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a process for converting olefins into lighter olefins, in particular into propylene by using less valuable olefins present in refinery and petrochemical plants as a feedstock of a catalytic conversion, a process which produces propylene with high propylene yield and purity, and to provide a process which produces flowing-out liquid containing propylene with quality at least in a chemical grade even abundantly containing propylene, and also a process for production of propylene with stable propylene conversion and stable product distribution with time.

The process for the production of propylene from an olefin-containing feedstock containing at least one olefin of C4or greater includes contacting the olefin-containing feedstock with a catalyst of the MFI-type having a silicon/aluminum atomic ratio of at least about 180 to produce an effluent containing propylene, the propylene yield on the olefin basis being from 30 to 50% based on the olefinic content of the feedstock.
