To provide a method enabling production of pulp having low resin content by solving hindrance due to a resin contained in a vegetable raw material and hindering digesting and bleaching in production of pulp.

This method for producing pulp having low resin content comprises adding a polar organic solvent which is miscible in arbitrary ratio with water to water or a cooking liquor to carry out pulping treatment of a vegetable raw material when mechanical pulp, chemical pulp or semi-chemical pulp is produced from the vegetable raw material. Thereby, the method facilitates pulping by elution of resin content and enables production of pulp having low resin content.
