PURPOSE: To obtain the sufficient strength of adhesion of a pusher plate formed with a coating layer of a polyurethane resin on the front surface by applying a polyurethane resin soln. on one side face of the pusher plate, press welding this plate onto a diaphragm fixed to a blood chamber housing of the blood pump of the artificial heart and drying the resin, thereby fixing the plate.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of the pusher plate 1 is coated with the polyurethane resin 3 which is the same material as the material of the diaphragm 4. The pusher plate 1 coated in such a manner is attached to the diaphragm 4 fixed to the blood chamber housing 8 of the blood pump by using an adhesive agent consisting of the polyurethane resin. The housing 9 of the driving chamber of the blood pump is fixed onto the diaphragm 4 attached with the pusher plate in such a manner, by which the desired pusher plate type blood pump is obtd.
