Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily obtain a pyrazolone derivative useful as an intermediate raw material for agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and other synthetic chemicals at a low cost by reacting a dihalocarboxylic acid derivative or a haloacrylic acid derivative with a hydrazine derivative.
CONSTITUTION: This pyrazolone derivative of formula III is produced by reacting (A) a 2,3-dihalocarboxylic acid derivative of formula I [R1 and R2 are each H, an alkyl or phenyl; X is a halogen; Z is OR3 (R3 is a lower alkyl) or NR4R5 (R4 and R5 are each H or an alkyl)] or (B) a 2-haloacrylic acid derivative of formula II with (C) a hydrazine derivative of formula, R-HNNH2 (R is H, an alkyl, allyl, an aryl or an aralkyl). The component A is preferably a 2,3- dichlorocarboxylic acid ester or 2,3-dichlorocarboxylic acid amide and the component B is preferably a 2-chloroacrylic acid ester or 2-chloroacrylic acid amide.
