Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an insulator having good insulating effect and harmless to molten steel hot liquid, which is prepared at a reduced production cost and with a simplified production process.
CONSTITUTION: The granular insulator is prepared by steaming a black ash in a combustion kiln, which has been obtained by combustion of the rice hull, then after converting the black ash to a white ash by firing, cooling the white ash, homogeneously mixing the rice hull white ash with adhesive rice hull lees, in a weight ratio of 85-92% of the rice hull white ash and 15% of the adhesive rice hull lees, extruding the mixture, wherein the particles of the rice hull white ash are bonded each other due to the viscosity of the rice hull lees, using an extruder in order to obtain a granulated material and finally drying the granulated material. The viscous rice hull lees mentioned above are obtained by mixing rice hull lees with water and sodium hydroxide (NaOH), which have been collected from the polishing process of rice hull powders or from waste gas discharged from the threshing process of the rice hull.
