Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject foam useful as a heat insulating material for an electric refrigerator, house, etc., having high closed cell ratio, etc., excellent in dimensional stability at high temperature at high humidity and storage stability by using water as a blowing agent and reacting a specific polyol with a polyisocyanate.
CONSTITUTION: (B) A polyol consisting of a polyol (BOP) which comprises 25-100-mol% of butylene oxide of added alkylene oxides and has 200-600mg KOH/g OH value and a polyol (AOP) which comprises the added alkylene oxides except butylene oxide and having the weight ratio of BOP/AOP of (10-100)/(90-0) is reacted with (C) a polyisocyanate in the presence of (D) a catalyst and (E) a foam stabilizer by using only (A) water as a blowing agent to give the objective foam. The amount of the component A used is preferably 2.5-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the component B.
