PURPOSE: To enable a cold work with forging in high accuracy the shaft component with large-sized flange by a comparatively small capacity equipment with combining the respective merit by forming a large-sized flange part with a rotary forging machine and by forging with press-in the shaft part with an ordinary press machine.
CONSTITUTION: A large-sized flange part 8 is formed in good shape with the braying forging press having good workability in radial direction by inserting a blank material 5 into the lower die 12 having the teeth part 14 of the rotary forging machine performing a braying movement by upper die 10. The forming stock 2 of large-sized flange part is pinched by the upper and lower dies 20, 25 which are via the elastic bodies 23, 27 of an ordinary pressing machine advantageous for the forging of the shaft part in succession and the shaft part is forged with the pressing-in of a punch 21 and mandrel 28 and a forged article 1 is extruded by a knockout pin 29. Owing to the respective merit being combined a large-sized shaft component with flange is forged with high accuracy by the equipment of comparatively small capacity and a cold forging work is enabled as well.
