Abstract:
To simply and efficiently separate and recover sialic acids that can be utilized as a raw materials for food products, medicines, cosmetics, feed and the like in large amounts by effectively utilizing the desalination step for the whey or lactose crystal mother liquor including sialic acids to carry out the desalination process.
The whey or lactose crystal mother liquor is passed through the weakly basic anionic ion exchange resin, then the sialic acids adsorbed on the weakly basic anionic ion exchange resin is eluted.
