Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a new method for producing this copolymer having excellent physical strengths and useful as a base resin of an ion exchange resin, a chelate resin, etc., and to provide a method for producing this resin using the copolymer.

CONSTITUTION: The copolymer is produced by copolymerizing acrylonitrile, an alkyl (meth)acrylate, an aliph. or alicyclic unsatd. crosslinkable monomer having at least two allyl groups, and an arom. polyunsatd. crosslinkable monomer in the presence of an inert org. solvent having a specific gravity of 1.0 or higher in an amt. of 10-45wt.% of the total amt. of the above monomers. The produced copolymer is hydrolyzed.
