To provide a method for continuously and efficiently producing a spherical nonwoven fabric.
A prepared fibrous mass 4 is introduced into a hollow part of a tubular body 1 having helically wound sites 1a to travel in the hollow part as a passage. When the fibrous mass 4 travels in the helically wound sites 1a, a centrifugal force acts in the direction toward the outside of the helix. The fibrous mass 4 travels while colliding with the inner wall 2 of the tubular body 1 by the centrifugal force and is thereby gradually formed into a spherical shape. As a result, a spherical nonwoven fabric 20 is produced. A concrete apparatus for producing the spherical nonwoven fabric 20 is equipped with a fibrous mass preparing device 7 for preparing the fibrous mass 4 from a fiber sliver 8, a fibrous mass holding device 9 installed near an inlet 1b of the tubular body 1, the tubular body 1 having the helically wound sites 1a, a heater 10 for heating the inner wall 2 of the tubular body 1, a cooler 11 for cooling the inner wall 2 near the outlet 1c of the tubular body 1 and a housing container 5 installed connectedly to the outlet 1c of the tubular body 1.
