Title:
PRODUCTION OF STAINLESS STEEL HOT ROLLED STRIP USING CONTINUOUS CAST SLAB
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5592255
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To heat and roll continuous cast slab without pretreatment and prevent occurrence of surface flaw, by continuously casting stainless steel by means of upward dipping nozzle and Ni-electroformed mold.

CONSTITUTION: Molten stainless steel is poured into a mold coated with Ni-electroformed layer on the inner face, from a dipping nozzle equipped with nozzles holes 4, 4' designed to branch off the molten steel at an angle of 5W15° upwards to the side direction from a bottom 2 of a molten steel supply route 3 of a refractory brick tube 1, to cast continuously. At this time, in the molten steel in the mold, upward discharge flow is applied by the dipping nozzle to pour into the upper part of molten steel without staying still, thus forming a continuous cast slab. This continuous cast slab thus obtained is heated without any pretreatment, and hot-rolled.
