PURPOSE: To stabilize peelability after reproduction and to obtain the stamper having high quality by decreasing the potential difference between an anode and cathode for plating to zero in a plating stage for reproducing a mother from a master and a plating stage for reproducing a son from the mother.
CONSTITUTION: The master 14 is put into a plating bath 11 and a slight external voltage is impressed between the Ni anode 12 and the master cathode 14. The slight voltage between electrodes 12 and 14 is negated to decrease the potential difference to zero. The plating is executed after the plating bath temp. is attained to reproduce the mother. The plating is executed by the same method even in the plating stage for reproducing the son from the mother. As a result, the electric double layers on the extreme surfaces of the master and the mother are chemically stable in the plating bath and the dissolution of the peeled films in the plating bath is obviated. The peelability after the reproduction is thus stabilized. The high-quality stamper having no defects is produced in this way.
