Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide sufficient damping characteristic and strength by reheating a steel containing specific amounts of Mn and Al and finishing rolling at specific temp.

CONSTITUTION: A steel having a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.01-0.15% C, 0.1-1.5% Mn, 3.0-6.0% Al, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is reheated to 1100-1350°C, and rolling is finished at ≥900°C. The size of crystalline grains can be increased and damping characteristic can be improved with increasing rolling finishing temp. By this method, the steel having superior damping characteristic and strength can be produced, and the performance of site welding can be done with safety.
