PURPOSE: To produce a steel rod for cold forging excellent in lubricity and corrosion resistance by using simple equipment and process without subjecting to zinc phosphating process and reactive soap treatment.

CONSTITUTION: After a hot rolled stock is subjected to descaling treatment, the resin coating liquid consisting of essentially of an aqueous resin, which contains 1-50wt.% polyethylene and 1-50wt.% SiO2 as a silica particle, is coated/ dried and after a resin film is formed at a rate of 0.5-50g/m2 on the surface of rolled stock, drawing is executed.
