Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a sterilized spice powder manifexting an excellent germicidal effect without humidity control.
SOLUTION: This method for producing a sterilized spice comprises a step for pulverizing spices into 50-300μm average particle diameters, a step for feeding the pulverized spice powders having <10wt.% water content into a twin screw extruder, a step for heat-treating the spice powders at 105-180°C under 0.2-50kg/cm2G pressure and further a step for cooling the heat-treated spice powders in the same extruder and extruding the ones. Moreover, the heating and the cooling are carried out in a sealed system.
