PURPOSE: To uniformize the coated film of an undercoating layer by forming resin coated layers contg. a polyolefin resin as an essential component respective ly on both surfaces of a sheet-like base body and subjecting the resin coated layer on the front side to an activation treatment, and then extruding a coating liquid from a slit-shaped orifice to apply the liquid.
CONSTITUTION: The resin coated layers contg. the polyolefin resin as the essen tial component are formed respectively on both surfaces of the sheet-like base body and the surface of the resin coated layer on the front side forming a photographic emulsion layer of these resin coated layers is subjected to the activation treatment. The coating liquid contg. gelatin as the essential compo nent is extruded from the slit-shaped orifice and is applied on the surface of the resin coated layer subjected to the activation and is applied thereon to form the under coating layer. The intrusion of bubbles in the coating liquid of the under coating layer is obviated and the undercoating layer which does not generate the trouble of the coated surface such as repulsion of liquid and the intrusion of the foreign matter is obtd.
