PURPOSE: To obtain a surface skin material with excellent appearance and feeling of touch, capable of preventing electrostatic shock by inserting electroconductive yarns into a nonwoven fabric so as to be spread over both sides thereof followed by raising one side thereof and providing the other side with a semi-electroconductive layer.
CONSTITUTION: This surface skin material 4 capable of preventing electrostatic shock is obtained by inserting electroconductive yarns 2 (e.g. synthetic fibers incorporated with electroconductive microparticles) into a nonwoven fabric 1 such as one composed of ultrafine polyester-based fibers 1a so as to be spread over both sides thereof followed by raising one side thereof and providing the other side with a semi-electroconductive layer 3 (e.g. a synthetic resin incorporated with carbon black or the like). This surface skin material is optimum as a sheet for vehicles because of being capable of removing electricity from the surface through the electroconductive yarns and the semi-electroconductive layer by continual self-discharge.
