Abstract:
To provide a system by which a large amount of sodium hydride can be efficiently produced in a short time from an alkali metal hydroxide.SOLUTION: A production system of sodium hydride includes first to third reduction reactors 11a to 11c, in which a lower heating space 21 is heated to a predetermined temperature in an atmosphere of nitrogen gas supplied from an inflow pipeline 14a and first and second connecting pipelines 14b, 14c; decomposition vapor of an alkali metal hydroxide molten in the lower heating space 21 rises to an intermediate cooling space 22; while being cooled by a cooling plate 13, the vapor is reduced into sodium hydride (NaH) by a reduction catalyst; the sodium hydride adheres to the cooling plate 13 to deposit and solidify; the nitrogen gas and hydrogen gas produced in a reduction space 18 flow out through outflow ports of the first and second connecting pipelines 14b, 14c; and the nitrogen gas and the hydrogen gas flow through inflow ports of the first and second connecting pipelines 14b, 14c into the reduction reactors 11b, 11c located downstream the inflow ports.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
