Abstract:
PURPOSE: To economically and advantageously produce a solution of thiourea dioxide with small loss of chemicals and reduced energy consumption or to effectively bleach papermaking pulp with the produced solution of thiourea dioxide.
CONSTITUTION: Thiourea is mixed with a peroxide and a heteropoly acid-based reaction catalyst or thiourea dioxide is blended with the peroxide, the heteropoly acid-based reaction catalyst and a chelating agent to produce thiourea dioxide. Or the reaction is carried out in the presence of pulp to produce a solution ox thiourea dioxide and simultaneously pulp is bleached with the produced solution of thiourea dioxide.
