Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce the tin electroplated steel sheet by treating a cold rolled steel sheet in an integrated line of continuously subjecting the steel sheet to degreasing, continuous annealing, pickling and tin electroplating, then to temper rolling and chromate treating. CONSTITUTION:Both surfaces of the cold rolled steel sheet are electrolytically degreased and are subjected to washing and drying; in succession, the steel sheet is continuously annealed in a continuous annealing furnace of a reduced atmosphere and is then continuously passed in a pickling soln. While the steel sheet having the pickled surfaces is passed in an acidic Sn plating liquid, the steel sheet as cathode is energized and Sn is electroplated on the surfaces of the steel sheet in the amt. of 0.1 to 2.8g/m<2> per surface, and in succession thereto, the steel sheet is temper-rolled by a dry process or a wet process using fats and oils, such as dioctyl sebacate of a fatty acid ester system. Finally, the surfaces are subjected to the chromate treatment to form chromate films. A lubricant for rust prevention is applied thereon. The Sn electroplated steel sheet for DI cans having a high degree of drawability is thus efficiently produced at a low cost by the integrated operations. The generation of iron powder by the temper-rolling is prevented by continuously executing the respective process and executing the temper-rolling after the plating treatment.
