PURPOSE: To improve the contrast of an image by forming a light shading layer on a transmissive type projection screen main body.
CONSTITUTION: A resin layer 4 which can be dyed with the dyes of a dark color and (or) a black color is provided on the observation surface 3 of the screen main body 2. Then a light polymerizing resin film 5 which is not dyed with the dyes is contacted and formed on the resin layer 4 after exposure polymerization. Next, a light beam is radiated from the projection surface side of the screen main body 2 where the light polymerizing resin film 5 is contacted and formed on the resin layer 4 and the light transmission part 7 of the light polymerizing resin film 5 is exposed and polymerized. Then, by soaking the screen main body 2 in a specified developing solution or spraying the developing solution on the main body 2 so as to execute developing, the part except the light transmission part 7 of the light polymerizing resin film is removed and the part of the resin layer 4 equal to the part except the light transmission part 7 of the light polymerizing resin film is dyed with the dyes, which is set as the light shading layer 8, and then the transmissive type projection screen can be obtained. Thus, the contrast of the image can be improved.
