Methods for adding the above-mentioned respective ingredients such as the carbon source and the phytohormone and further, as necessary, vitamins and amino acids to Murashige.Skoog culture medium, Linsmaier.Skoog culture medium, White culture medium, Gamborg B-5 culture medium, Nitsch.Nitsch culture medium, etc., as a basal culture medium and preparing the culture medium are cited as the method for preparing the culture medium. The tropones produced by the cultured tissues such as callus tissues of the plant belonging to the genus Thujopsis can be obtained from cells and/or the culture medium according to a method for extraction, etc., by carrying out culturing in the culture medium.
