PURPOSE: To obtain an emulsion more improved in organoleptic properties and stability and drastically enhanced in utility value as a base of cosmetics by compounding a substance obtained by hydrolyzing mucus of shellfish, conchiolin or a hydrolysate of conchiolin to emulsify the same by a microfluidizer.

CONSTITUTION: Cosmetics raw materials, for example, liquid oil such as squalane or jojoba oil, solid oil such as beeswax or cetyl alcohol, various activators, a humectant such as 1,3-butylene glycol, various medicines and the like are added to a substance obtained by hydrolyzing mucus of shellfish, conchiolin or a hydrolysate of conchiolin to prepare cosmetics of a formulation of every kind. This prepared substance is melted and mixed under heating and stirring and treated with a microfluidizer. That is, an emulsion prepared by emulsifying the hydrolysate of mucus of shellfish or conchiolin by the microfluidizer can be more improved in organoleptic properties or stability and enhanced in utility value as a base of cosmetics.
