Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a vinyl chloride-based polymer by suppressing scale formation and utilizing a heat removal ability of a reflux condenser at its maximum.

CONSTITUTION: In polymerizing a vinyl chloride monomer alone or a mixture of the vinyl chloride monomer and another monomer copolymerizable with the vinyl chloride monomer, a polymerizer equipped with a reflux condenser and a level gage for continuously measuring the liquid level of contents in the polymerizer as a measured value is used and the vinyl chloride monomer or the mixture is polymerized while controlling the liquid level of the contents in the polymerizer in a given range to provide production of the vinyl chloride- based polymer.
