Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing a vinyl chloride resin by using an anionic emulsifier, whereby the deposition of polymer scales on the inside wall of a polymerizer can be reduced and vinyl chloride resin particles being highly porous and having a narrow particle diameter distribution and excellent processability can be obtained.
CONSTITUTION: A process for suspension-polymerizing a vinyl chloride monomer in the presence of an oil-soluble emulsifier in an aqueous medium, which process comprises adding at least either a partially saponified polyvinyl acetate of a degree of saponification of 70-90mol% or a cellulose derivative, an anionic emulsifier and a thickener having a Brookfield viscosity of 10-200cP when measured in a 0.1wt.% aqueous solution to the reaction system.
