Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a water-absorbing resin which has a high water absorptivity under pressure while retaining a high water absorptivity under no pressure as one of basic physical characteristics of a water-absorbing resin.
CONSTITUTION: A water-absorbing base polymer having carboxyl groups is mixed with a crosslinker Which reactes with carboxyl groups at a solubility parameter (SP value) of 12.5 (cal/cm3)1/2 or higher and another rosslinker which reacts with carboxyl groups at a solubility parameter (SP value) lower than 12.5 (cal/cm2)1/2 and the mixture is thermally treated at 160°C or higher.
