Title:
PRODUCTION OF WATER-PERMEABLE PAVEMENT MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3109382
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a water-permeable pavement material by using a large amt. of coal ash.
CONSTITUTION: A hard aggregate having 0.5-5mm grain diameter, a low- refractoriness ceramic material and water are supplied to a high-speed impeller- type granulator to granulate a composite grain with coal ash and ceramic material densely stuck to the aggregate. The composite grains are pressed so that a void is left between the grains to obtain a pavement material-shaped compact, and the compact is fired. Consequently, the composite grain with the aggregate as the core is enhanced in hardness and stabilized in dimensions, and a large amt. of coal ash is stuck. Since the densely stuck layer is formed, the composite grains has relatively high strength, and a void is left between the grains in press forming. The low-refractoriness ceramic material and hard aggregate used along with the coal ash are inexpensive, and hence the cost is lowered. The pavement material is easily formed by uniaxial compaction without using a special forming machine. A desired water-permeable pavement material is easily produced with an ordinary equipment by using a large amt. of coal ash.
