To obtain an yeast accumulating glutathion and zinc simultaneously and useful as a food, feed, etc., by adding a specific amount of zinc ion to a medium and culturing a glutathion-producing yeast.

This method for culturing a glutathion-producing yeast is to add 10-2,300 ppm zinc ion to a medium for increasing the accumulated amounts of glutathion and also zinc in microbial cells. Further, it is preferable that the glutathion-producing yeast is the yeast belonging to the genus of Saccharomyces, further more preferably one kind or two or more kinds selected from a group consisting of yeasts belonging to the genuses of Candida, Debryomyces, Rhodotorula, Torulopsis, Hnasenula, Sizosaccharomyces, Pichia, Kluveromyces and Phaiffia.
