PURPOSE: To obtain the zirconia sol maintaining stable state over a long period of 3 months on more and to provide the producing method of zirconia and yttria stabilized zirconia molding whose firing is executed at lower temp. compared with the conventional method.
CONSTITUTION: The first producing method consists of each step. That is, zirconium alkoxide is dissolved in a solvent, the soln. obtained by diluting 1N nitric acid used as a catalyst with the solvent is added to the soln. of zirconium alkoxide and the zirconium alkoxide is hydrolyzed, water injection and concentration is executed repeatedly until the dispersing medium of the sol obtained by the hydrolysis is substituted with water, the dispersion is set up at room temp. in atmosphere, the obtained gel is dried, and the dried forming body is fired. The second producing method contains the step of dissolving a yttrium nitride powder in the dispersion between the step of water injection and concentration and the step of gelation and drying.
