Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an improved process for producing [(CH3)2AUI]2.

CONSTITUTION: An alkyl-substituted pyridine is used in place of pyridine in a [(CH3)2AuI]2-producing process comprising the dissolution of AuCl3 in pyridine, reaction with a Grignard reagent, extraction of the product, collection in aqueous layer with an organic chelating agent and acidification of the product to recover the objective [(CH3)2AUI]2.
