The automatic program guide generation system 100 comprises: a contract time data acquisition part 110 for reading image data for receiving the instruction of a desired category from a storage device 130, transmitting them to a portable terminal 200 and acquiring the instruction data of the desired category; a corresponding content specifying part 111 for specifying the information of contents made to correspond to the desired category in a category information database 125; a candidate specifying part 112 for specifying the prescribed number of the contents pertinent to the desired category with the prescribed number or more of distribution setting results as default program candidates; and a default program guide generation part 113 for generating a default program guide by arranging the default program candidates at prescribed time intervals.
