PURPOSE: To attain timer reservation of a VTR by a telephone call by inputting a signal from an external telephone set to a CPU via a telephone line interface, controlling the VTR via a VTR interface and displaying the state by voice.
CONSTITUTION: When a telephone line interface (hereinafter I/F) 4 is called by an external telephone set 2 whether the state is telephone reservation or normal talking is discriminated, a tone signal is outputted to a tone decoder 5 in case of the former, the decoder 5 discriminates a button number and transfers the result to the CPU6. On the other hand, the state of the VTR3 is transferred to the CPU6 via a VTRI/F7, the CPU6 discriminates a command signal by telephone and the state signal of the VTR3 and the required control signal is instructed to the VTR3 via the I/F7. Then a voice synthesis circuit 8 uses a command of the CPU6 to make voice response and confirmation of reservation.
