Abstract:
To provide a projection device that prevents the occurrence of color breakup in a projection image.SOLUTION: A projection device 101 comprises: a three-color liquid crystal panel 40; a photosynthetic element 50 that synthesizes emission light from the three-color liquid crystal panel 40 and emits s-polarized light and p-polarized light; a narrow-band λ/2 retardation element 211 that aligns the polarization components of the light emitted from the photosynthetic element 50; a variable wavelength element 221 that allows emission of the light emitted from the narrow-band λ/2 retardation element 211 selectively as the s-polarized light or the p-polarized light; and a polarization separation element 231 that reflects or transmits the light emitted from the variable wavelength element 221 according to a polarization direction to obtain projection light for a first area S1 and a second area S2 adjacent to the first area S1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
