Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection display and a projection display system capable of illuminating a to-be-illuminated surface while dividing the surface into a plurality of regions, and suppressing the influence of the degraded performance of a light source on a projection image.SOLUTION: A projector 100 comprises: a display panel 110; a light source unit including a plurality of light sources; and an illumination optical unit 106 guiding a plurality of beams emitted from the plurality of light sources included in the light source unit to a plurality of to-be-illuminated regions of the display panel 110. Furthermore, the projector 100 comprises: a region calculation unit 113 acquiring information about a region at brightness equal to or higher than predetermined brightness of a to-be-projected surface onto which the beams from the display panel 110 are projected; and an image processing unit 108 performing image processing such that an entire projection image is displayed in the region at the brightness equal to or higher than the predetermined brightness on the to-be-projected surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
