Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain accurate focusing and an excellent hue and to easily execute maintenance management.
CONSTITUTION: The system is provided with many transparent block materials for light from a light source 2 and the adjacent side faces of respective blocks 5 to 8 are formed so as to be engaged with each other and arranged close to each other so as to form a single light controlling element 1. The element 1 is formed so as to surround a cylindrical area 3 coaxial with the center axis of the element 1 to include the light source 2. Light having three primary colors is emitted from the light source 2 and led into each of the blocks 5 to 8. The video display optical signals of all the primary colors led from the element 1 are synthesized to a single light beam. Since the light source 2 is arranged on the center area, the cooling of the blocks 5 to 8 can be maintained by convection, a fan or the liquid jacket of melted crystal around the light source and the generation of expansion or contraction can be minimized.
