PURPOSE: To aim at a reduction in the distortion stress produced in a skirt part as well as in the promotion of high luminance, by making up an opening of the skirt part so as to expand from the panel front side to the funnel side toward an inner wall of the phosphor screen panel skirt part with a specified angle taper.

CONSTITUTION: An inner wall of a skirt part 2a of a phosphor screen panel 2 is, dor pattern-drawing use in time of manufacturing the panel 2 in pattern-molding, provided with a taper of above 7 deg in a direction where an opening of the skirt part 2a grows larger the wider the remoter away from a face part, namely in proportion as it comes near from the panel front side to the funnel part side. With this constitution, distortion stress in the panel skirt part produced by pressure of a refrigerant 5 can be effectively reduced.
