Abstract:
The present invention provides a bottom case which can be used commonly for projection-type video display devices using different projection methods. For that purpose, a projection-type video display device which modulates beams emitted from light sources in accordance with a video signal and projects the result onto a projection surface is configured so as to have a light source device for emitting beams from the light sources in the same direction, an illumination optical system for uniformly outputting the light from the light source, a color separation optical system for separating the light from the illumination optical system into R, G, B light, video display elements for modulating the intensity of the R, G, B light in accordance with a video signal, an optical unit comprising a combining optical system for combining the light from the video display elements, a projection lens for projecting the light from the optical unit, a power supply unit for supplying power, a cooling unit, and a drive substrate whereon a control unit for controlling each component is mounted, and the projection-type video display device is further configured so as to have a bottom case used in common by a first and a second projection method and so that the light source device, the optical unit, the projection lens, the power supply unit, the cooling unit, and the drive substrate are arranged on the bottom case.
