Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a projection type liquid crystal display device capable of obtaining an image projected on a screen an image with excellent contrast and high quality. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal display panel 10 is used for a reflection type liquid crystal panel having a reflecting plate 16 on the rear surface thereof. Light (a1) from a light source 3 is made incident on the panel 10 from the front surface side thereof. Simultaneously, image light (a2) reflected by the plate 16 on the rear surface of the panel 10 and emitted to the front surface side thereof is made incident on a projection lens 4.
