Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type video display device capable of suppressing a hue change even when light emission from one or plural light sources is stopped, as for a device provided with plural light sources.
SOLUTION: A dichroic mirror 71 is divided into a 1st division part 7A and a 2nd division part 7B. The light from a lens part on the left part of an integrator lens shown in the figure is made incident on the 1st division part 7A, and the light from the right part of the integrator lens shown in the figure is made incident on the 2nd division part 7B. The device is constituted so that color separation characteristics of the 1st division part 7A is made to differ from that of the 2nd division part 7B in accordance with the optical axis of the incident light from the light source and the color light obtained through respective division parts 7A and 7B may be color-separated with nearly the same characteristics, then, even when the light emission from one light source is stopped, the color separation characteristics are secured as good as before, and the hue change is suppressed.
