Abstract:
To provide a liquid crystal projector capable of easily suppressing luminance spots.
In this liquid crystal projector, total reflection mirrors M1 to M3 being optical elements of an illuminating optical system 15 are arranged in a horizontal direction and a vertical direction to the optical axis of the illuminating optical system 15 and a lens barrel 6 while being inclined by prescribed angles with respect to the optical axis. Since projection positions of respective color rays of light are shifted and dark lines do not overlap mutually at the time of projecting rays of light which are subjected to color composition in a dichroic prism 5 on a screen through the lens barrel 6, luminance spots can be suppressed easily.
