PURPOSE: To obtain a gas laser projector combining a laser knife and a blood vessel inosculating device of high safety by changing over two ranges of a high output and a low output by changing over a beam splitter while detecting the changeover of the beam splitter and changing over the reference set value of a control system by a detecting output on the changeover of the beam splitter.
CONSTITUTION: A beam splitter 11a is selected and set on a use as a laser knife. When working beams P1 are brought to approximately several dozen w at that time, monitor beams P2 are brought to a several w order. A positional sensor 12a detects the setting of the beam splitter 11a by setting the beam splitter, and a reference signal e1 for a high output range is outputted by a detecting signal on the detection. The reference signal e1 is compared with an output from a photodetector 5 detecting the monitor beams P2 by an error amplifier 14, a discharge current control circuit 3 is controlled by an output from the amplifier, and a stable oscillation of a necessary output is maintained. When the gas laser projector is used for inosculate a blood vessel, the beam splitter is changed over to a beam splitter 11b. Monitor beams P2 are brought to a 10mw order when working beams P1 are approximately several mw at that time, and the high- output photodetector 5 can be employed as it is.
