Title:
PROPELLER FOR MARINE VESSEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005022570
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a propeller for a marine vessel capable of reducing stern vibration or blade surface erosion due to cavitation especially in a special high-speed large-sized vessel.

According to this invention, each pitch angle of a plurality of blades is set small when it is at the position (near Θ =0°) where the cavitation easily occurs on the blade surface, and is set large when it is at the position (near Θ = 120° or 240°) where the cavitation hardly occurs on the blade surface. The occurrence of the cavitation at the position where the following wake of the stern is large and water depth is shallow, is remarkably suppressed, the fluctuation band of an elevation angle can be smooth over Θ =0° to 180°, and the cavitation occurred can be moderately vanished. Therefore, the occurrence of large stern vibration or erosion can be reduced.
