Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion device for a hybrid type ship maintaining high fuel consumption efficiency, improving ship steering performance, and reducing hull resistance, by providing both a gas turbine and a diesel engine as a main engine of the ship.
SOLUTION: The gas turbine 1 and a first power generator 2 driven by the gas turbine 1 are provided in a bow part, and the diesel engine 1A and a second power generator 2A driven by the diesel engine 1A are provided. A propeller-driving power generator 5 receives supply of electric power from both the power generator 2, 2A to operate. The gas turbine 1 is maintained in high output (rated output) and high-efficiency state during navigation, and adjustment of ship speed is executed by adjusting output of the diesel engine 1A. Exhaust of the gas turbine 1 in the bow part is exhausted as micro bubbles to reduce the hull resistance (the viscous resistance).
