Abstract:
To improve propulsion performance, while restraining the occurrence of cavitation and erosion and becoming excessiveness of bearing force in a propeller shaft, in a biaxial ship using an OLP (overlapping propellers) system.
This propulsion device includes a port propeller 20 and a starboard propeller 10. The starboard propeller 10 is arranged so that a part of a blade overlaps with a blade of the port propeller 20 in a front or rear position of the port propeller 20 in the ship length direction. Among the port propeller 20 and the starboard propeller 10, a diameter of a rear propeller positioned in the rear, is smaller than a diameter of a front propeller positioned in front.
