PURPOSE: To provide a protecting apparatus for wirings for an automobile which can perform without the use of any fuse the protection of its circuit against overcurrents and the indication of the abnormality generation.
CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for protecting wirings for an automobile, PTC elements 1 are connected respectively in series with circuit conductors 7 provided on the vehicle body of the automobile, and an indicating means 6 which senses the overcurrents flowing through the PTC elements 1 and indicates the abnormality generation of the circuit of the automobile is provided. Further, the protection of the circuit and the indication of the abnormality generation of the circuit which are associated with the overcurrents are performed by the utilization of the resistance-temperature characteristic of the PTC element 1.
